CHARIS Privacy Policy
CHARIS maintains various lists of contacts, including members, volunteers, donors/contributors, vendors, public relations, and others who may have prospective interest in the chorus or its activities. We only collect the amount of information necessary to conduct our business, and restrict access to only those who have a legitimate business need for it.
Information That We Collect and Store
CHARIS gathers information from multiple sources, including: audience surveys, public information (for example: phonebooks and publication ads), donation forms and checks, emails received and information entered from our website.
Information that we collect includes: name, address, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and any other information voluntarily supplied by the individual.
Member Lists
To facilitate contact among members within the group, CHARIS provides to its members a listing of current members, and frequently updates that listing. Members are given the opportunity to opt-out or limit the information provided on this list.
All those receiving the Member List are expected to use the information in a responsible manner and not to disseminate the list to non members.
Mailing / Contact Lists (Postal and E-Mail)
Mailing and other Contact Lists are kept to enable us to inform others of CHARIS news and events. Whenever possible, addition of a contact to a list should follow the “opt-in” model: the individual must have requested to be added or must positively acknowledge an invitation to be added.
Information from Contact Lists will not be sold nor given to any other individuals, businesses or groups for non-chorus-related use.
Recepients of mailings (both Postal and E-Mail) will be removed from our list upon their request to our public addresses either in writing or through email.
