The 2011-2012 season begins with “Women Who Rock” on November 18-19 at 8 p.m at Lafayette Park United Methodist Church (2300 Lafayette Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63104). From Etta to Gaga and Aretha to Madonna, this concert celebrates the women pioneers of rock and roll in honor of the 25th anniversary of the first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
General admission tickets are $20 at the door. Student (with valid I.D.), child (ages 5-12), and senior (65+) tickets are $13. Contact info@charischorus.org with questions.

StarFire’s House of Monology – August 19, 8 p.m. - Say you’re with CHARIS and a percentage of your ticket price will be donated to CHARIS! Tickets available in advance for $10 or at the door for $12.
Bellerive Community Yard Sale – September 17, 7 a.m. - CHARIS will be located on Bellerive at the corner of Colorado. Support your favorite women’s chorus and maybe find some hidden treasures.
Benefit Concert – September 24, 7 p.m. - Our friends Symmetry and The Whole SHEbang#! will be putting on a benefit concert with all proceeds supporting CHARIS. Join us at The Connection for some great music. Tickets are $10 and will soon be available from chorus members or here on the website. Stay tuned!
Want to sing with CHARIS in our upcoming concert, “Women Who Rock”? Now is your chance to join us. Starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, we will begin open rehearsals. Come sing with us. Rehearsals are every Tuesday at Center for Divine Love, 3617 Wyoming Street. Don’t worry if you miss the first one. You’ll have two more opportunities on August 16 and August 23. We’re a non-audition chorus open to all women. We hope to see you there!

As CHARIS prepares to explore gender roles in our upcoming concert, Gender Polka, this article about parents who are keeping the biological sex of their baby a secret has us wondering. What are your thoughts on a “gender free” existence? Feel free to discuss in the comments.
