DONATIONS

As a not-for-profit organization, the chorus relies heavily on contributions from chorus and board members, grants and individual supporters to help us meet our financial obligations and to realize our dreams for the future of the chorus.

The chorus has two major financial goals coming up in 2008. We are bringing the nationally known lesbian comedian, Lisa Koch, to St. Louis to perform with us in "CHARIS on the Couch", our 15th anniversary concert to be performed in April, 2008. Three months later, the chorus will travel to Miami, Florida to take part in Festival 8 of GALA Choruses, the international organization of LGBT choruses. We would greatly appreciate your financial support in both of these endeavors.

There are many ways to donate to the chorus, and you can designate your donation either to our general fund or to our GALA fund. During the year, if you make your online purchases through the iGive.com shopping portal and select CHARIS as your charity of choice, a percentage of your purchase is sent to us quarterly. It's a nice way to donate without it costing you anything. You can write us a check or donate an item for our next silent auction. If you own a business, consider becoming a corporate sponsor. There are many reasons to donate to CHARIS, your favorite chorus, and we just made it even easier. You now have the ability to donate through PAY PAL, the same service you might use through other websites. All you have to do is click on the link below and, through PAY PAL, your donation can go right on your credit or debit card. (For the protection of our supporters, we do not maintain records of transactions on our website).

How would you like to donate someone else’s money to CHARIS?  Of course, we will take your money, too, but there really is a way to donate to the chorus without giving us a penny. 

If you make purchases online, you may already be buying from companies that will donate a percentage of the purchase price to your favorite not-for-profit chorus. Eddie Bauer donates 2.4% of every purchase.  If you buy New Balance shoes, check out Shoebuy.com.  No sales tax, no shipping and they donate 6.8%.  There are over 600 stores who will donate to the organization of your choice.

CHARIS is asking you to go to join the many supporters who are already donating Sears’, Lands’ End’s and J. C.
